James Foley launched his writing career following a successful career in the business world. He is the author of the Lisa Owens crime thriller series—Treasure Coast, Blue Ridge, and Catalina—as well as the gripping standalone thriller An American Boyfriend. Known for his compelling, character-driven narratives, James has earned consistent praise from readers and critics alike. His debut novel, Treasure Coast, is currently in development for a potential television adaptation.

Based in San Diego, California, James lives with his wife, Suzanne, and their rescue dog, Maple. When he's not writing, he’s exploring the nuanced world of tequila, enjoying live music, or traveling the globe. A lifelong dream recently fulfilled, he just returned from an unforgettable safari in South Africa.

James is an active member of International Thriller Writers and was a featured author at ThrillerFest 2025. He also belongs to the national writing organization, Sisters in Crime and serves on the board of its San Diego chapter, Partners in Crime.
